Nusantara Executive Dinner Gathering: Pioneering the Future of AI, Connectivity, and Data Centers

On Wednesday, July 30, 2024, Nusantara Academy hosted an executive dinner gathering, bringing together 50 industry executives who are influential in the technology sector. The event provided a platform for networking and exchanging ideas on the latest developments in the digital industry, with a particular focus on advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI), 5G connectivity, and data centers. The theme of the event was “Pioneering the Future: AI Innovations, Connectivity, and Sustainability in the Data Center Industry.”

The evening was structured as an intimate fine-dining experience, with limited round-table seating designed to foster meaningful discussions. The event featured various activities integrating educational elements, such as case studies, quizzes, games, insight-sharing sessions, and panel discussions on innovation and the future of technology in Indonesia.

The event commenced with a series of solution showcases. Achraf Hegazy, President Director of Legrand Indonesia, presented the Legrand Data Center Solutions, followed by presentations from Kim Yong Ng with Starline Solutions, Benjamin Yap with Raritan Solutions, Eddy Chin with Sunbird Solutions, and Avi Sakhalkar with ZPE Solutions.

Indonesia’s Demographic Bonus

Erick Hadi, Founder of Nusantara Academy, delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing Indonesia’s demographic bonus. He highlighted three key areas to maximize the potential of the youth in facing this demographic shift: Education, Employment, and Engagement. He aligned these points with Nusantara Academy’s commitment to fostering sustainable education to develop competent talent, particularly in the data center industry.

AI Development in Indonesia

Following the opening remarks, Irvan Bastian, VP of Data Science, Machine Learning Engineering, Tech Infrastructure, and Information Security at Tiket.com, delivered an industry insight session. He discussed the rapid development of AI in Indonesia and the resulting talent shortage. Bastian emphasized that companies leveraging AI will significantly outpace those that do not, stressing the importance of preparing the next generation to be AI-ready.

Developing AI-Ready Infrastructure

Clinton Marshall, Deputy Director of Solutions for APAC at White Space, Legrand Data Center Solutions, then took the stage to discuss “Developing AI-Ready Infrastructure.” He stressed the importance of understanding current data center operations, highlighting issues such as underutilized power resources and the financial implications of inefficient power management.

Enhancing Financial Services Security: Strategies for a Resilient and Sustainable Infrastructure

Avi Sakhalkar, Asia Pacific Japan Leader for GTM, Channel, GSI at ZPE, outlined the current challenges in financial services and how ZPE is addressing these issues through cutting-edge solutions that enhance security and resilience.

How Automated Systems and Sustainability in Data Centers Support the Financial Industry

Eddy Chin, Asia Pacific DCIM Specialist at Sunbird, emphasized the significance of sustainability in data centers, particularly in terms of energy reuse, and the need for control within data centers to implement sustainable practices effectively. He also highlighted how automation and advanced monitoring systems can drive efficiency and support the financial industry’s push towards greener operations.

Panel Discussion: Uniting the Future—AI, 5G, Cyber-Attacks, and the Path to Carbon-Reducing Data Centers

The event concluded with a panel discussion featuring Irvan Bastian Arief, PhD, VP of Data Science, Machine Learning Engineering, Tech Infrastructure, and Information Security at Tiket.com, Andry Gunawan, Country Manager of NVIDIA Indonesia, and Edward Petrus, Director of PT. Megaroyal IT Comindo. The discussion was moderated by Astrid Malahayati, Head of IT Security Architecture at Maybank. The panel explored the intersections of AI, 5G, cybersecurity, and sustainability, and the potential they hold in shaping the future of Indonesia’s data center industry.
